We are all blessed to live in the great state of Texas. We are leading the nation in fiscal responsibility, ensuring economic growth, and conservative leadership. As Texans, our duty is to keep it that way.
Growing up in Baytown, I learned early on that Texas is a special state. Our form of limited government helps enable more opportunities for our families, growth of small businesses, and a better future for our children. The Texas economy has the strong track record to prove this model is a success that we must protect.
Our greatest threats often come from outside our state borders. Our federal
government often initiates them. The ObamaCare debacle for our families and healthcare providers, oppressive federal regulations of our small businesses, or the failure to protect our borders from drug smugglers, human traffickers or even terrorists are all examples of the federal government failing in its responsibilities and harming our economy and our families.
That is why we must preserve strong, conservative leadership in our State Legislature so our communities are empowered with solutions to help create new job opportunities, new prosperity, and new industries to move our state forward.
Along with my strong belief in limited government, my faith is a guiding element of my life. We are members of University Baptist Church where my wife and I have led the youth group, organized mission trips, and where I now serve on the UBC Executive Committee. My faith has also informed my beliefs in citizen service to our community, protecting the sanctity of unborn life, and preserving traditional family values.
